The Colorado Springs Fiction Writer's Group Monday group was established in January 1996, formed by Henry and Hollie Snider. The group started with a few like-minded writers, all tired of either paying for classes or attending writing groups which did little to offer constructive criticism beyond the non-committal, "I liked it."
The CSFWG offers the public an additional group which meets on a different day and time. Each of these groups is comprised of different members representing multiple genres.
The dynamics for all of the CSFWG groups focuses on having writers from differing genres in attendance. This allows submitting members to receive critiques from a multitude of backgrounds, interests and styles. Non genre-specific critique groups, like the CSFWG, give writers opinions, insight and suggestions coming from peers who often write in another field, allowing critiqued authors to better hone their work.

Meetings are held in the meeting room of Barnes & Noble Booksellers at the Citadel (scroll down for directions, phone number and directions). Meetings are on the last Monday of each month (with the exception of holidays) from 6-9PM.
